PARKING

We have 32 outdoor parking spaces available right outside the main entrance, as well as an underground car park with 10 regular spaces and one disabled space. Remember to register your car and pay for parking via the EasyPark app when you park in the hotel car park.

Our outdoor car park has several Monta charging stations. Registration and payment is done via the link. Please note that you cannot pre-book a parking space.

In addition to the hotel car park, there is also a paid public car park between 8:00 and 19:00.

FEEL THE PRESENCE OF HISTORY

KOMPAS Hotel Aalborg was originally founded as Aalborg Seamen's Home back in 1905 and was for many years a regular haunt for sailors who docked in Aalborg and needed a quiet, Christian place to stay. But when Aalborg Shipyard, which was a major supplier of seamen travelling to the city, closed in 1988, the hotel changed strategy.

KOMPAS Hotel has entered into a government agreement with the Danish Agency for Modernisation on overnight stays. This means that government employees can book with us at very favourable prices. If you want to settle via EAN number, we need the following information:

  • Official name of the company
  • Company address and main phone number
  • The company's CVR number and EAN number
  • Contact person and their email and phone number.

The history of KOMPAS Hotel Aalborg dates back to 1905, when Aalborg Seamen's Home was established in Slotsgade. The purpose was to offer a Christian home for travelling sailors and fishermen, where instead of drinking up their money at the nearest pub, they could enjoy themselves, read newspapers and write letters home to their families.

Eventually, the premises in Slotsgade became too small, and in 1926 a brand new seamen's home was inaugurated at Teglgårds Havn, where Nordkraft is located today. But as early as 1956, the hotel had to move again because Nordkraft needed to expand. The hotel was given the neighbouring property at Østerbro 27, where the most modern hotel in Aalborg at the time was built with water in the rooms and showers and toilets in the corridor.

After the closure of Aalborg Shipyard in 1988, the number of travelling seafarers dropped significantly. In the 1990s, the hotel was upgraded to a business, tourist and family hotel as a natural evolution of hotel operations. The hotel was modernised and transformed into the hotel we know today, where holidaymakers, artists and business people are now regular guests.

The hotel's operations and daily life are still based on Christian values, and it is still a seamen's home in the sense that all profits from hotel operations go to social welfare work among seamen and in the maritime community.

There have been plans to expand the hotel on several occasions, both in the 1970s and 1990s, but for various reasons the plans were never realised. Today, the situation is completely different, as the hotel has just completed a significant expansion and renovation that doubled the number of hotel rooms and facilities in one go. At the same time, the hotel also changed its name from Hotel Aalborg to KOMPAS Hotel Aalborg.

Check in and check out
The hotel room is available from 15:00 on the day of arrival until 11:00 on the day of departure. Later check-out can be purchased for DKK 100 per hour or part thereof, but only by agreement with reception and for a maximum of two hours.

Changes/cancellation
Booking changes or cancellations can be made by phone or email kontakt@kompashotel.dk.

Cancellations can be made free of charge until 18:00 the day before arrival. For later cancellations, the first night will be charged.

Standard terms and conditions for conferences/meetings/parties:

Diet:
Special diets and dietary requirements must be communicated at least 10 days prior to arrival.

Participant list:
No later than 10 days prior to arrival, please send us a list of participants with room allocation.

Cancellation:
Must be done by email:

60 days prior to arrival free of charge. 59-30 days prior to arrival 50 % is payable.
29-10 days prior to arrival, payment of 75 % is required.
Less than 10 days before arrival, 100 % must be paid.
Despite timely cancellation, the hotel reserves the right to demand payment for services that cannot be cancelled, such as deposits for external suppliers of music, equipment, etc.

Reduction of the number of participants must be done by email:
Up to 10 days before arrival, free of charge with a maximum 10 % reduction.
For reductions over 10 %, 65 % must be paid.
Less than 10 days before arrival, 100 % must be paid.

Payment options
Payment is made on arrival, either in cash or by credit card.

Smoking
All hotel rooms at KOMPAS Hotel are non-smoking, but we have good, covered outdoor smoking areas that you are always welcome to use. If you do smoke in a room, the guest will be charged a minimum fee of DKK 1,000 as compensation for extra cleaning.

Injuries
In the event of damage to the building or fixtures during the stay. the stay, the guest is obliged to pay for the repair of the damage.

Glimb cases
Lost property is stored at the hotel for up to 30 days. Please contact reception if you have forgotten something.
