Want to experience Aalborg like a local - not a tourist? Then read on here. Our skilled receptionists share their personal favourites so you can explore the city with real local eyes. We'll also tip you off about this year's big sporting event - the Danish Championship week - and show you how to enjoy the summer at KOMPAS Hotel with sun, peace and quiet and a south-facing balcony. Here are our top recommendations for an eventful June in Aalborg.
Jakob recommends:
-
The gaming café in the pedestrianised area
-
Walk in Østerådalen valley
-
Vestre Fjordpark Outdoor Pool and food on Aalborg Street Food
Jakob says: "I spend a lot of time at Spilcaféen! But if the weather is nice I also like to go for a walk in Østerådalen. Vestre Fjordpark is also nice! And you can eat your dinner at Aalborg Streetfood. You can sit outside and look at the water while you eat.“
Gitte recommends:
Gitte says: "We're often at Ulla T (Ulla Therkelsen Aalborg) in the west city. It's just cosy, relaxed and good atmosphere. They actually have some great concerts and talks too. It's a nice place for lunch, dinner, a drink or a cup of coffee.“
Susanne recommends:
-
Café Behag din Smag at Gabels Torv
-
Tourist information in the old telephone house on Gabel Square
Susanne says: "I definitely recommend Pleasure Your Flavour. They simply make the best coffee in town! The atmosphere is cosy and informal. You can sit outside on Gabels Torv and enjoy the sun in the centre of the city. "
"BONUS INFO: During the summer, the tourist information centre is located in the old telephone house on Gabel Square.“
Johanne recommends:
-
Walk by the harbour over the Limfjord Bridge and the Culture Bridge
Johanne says: "I would recommend a walk by the harbour. I often take a walk across the Limfjord Bridge and back across the cultural bridge. It's a lovely walk! It's only a couple of kilometres from Kompas and the walk takes about an hour in total.“
